Canon Error Code List (E series)

The one that has a display has an error written on it and the one that does not have a display has an alarm light on. By counting these we come to know which error is coming.

Canon is famous for its excellent quality, and the same applies to the exceptional print quality of their printers. In many printers, when a problem occurs, the error light either remains steady or goes blank, making it difficult to identify the problem. To simplify troubleshooting, I have developed a code that helps to understand printer problems easily. Let's take a look at the error code and what problem it indicates.

E02

No paper pick

Reload the paper on the Rear Tray or cassette correctly and press Black or Color button.

E03

Paper jam

Remove the paper and press Black or Color button.

E04

Print head [cartridges] not installed properly

Remove print head [cartridge] and install again

E05

Print head [cartridges] not detected

Gently clean the gold contacts of print head [cartridges] with an eraser and insert again

E07

cartridges not installed in correct position

Black cartridge must be installed in the black slot, and the color cartridge should be placed in the color slot.

E08

Ink absorber almost full

There is an ink absorber installed in the printer to absorb the ink, it is the filler and press Black or Color button.

E11

Cannot print current print settings

Change print setting

E13

Cartridge ink level not detected

Hold stop key for 5 sec

E14

Print head [cartridges] not detected

Gently clean the gold contacts of print head [cartridges] with an eraser and insert again

E15

Print head [cartridges] not detected

Gently clean the gold contacts of print head [cartridges] with an eraser and insert again

E16

Cartridge ink run out

Hold stop key for 5 sec

E30

The size of the original cannot be correctly detected size

Select the size of paper you are using

E50

Scanning the print head alignment sheet has failed.

Again start scanning print head alignment

These are minor issues that frequently occur with the printer. To prevent them, keep the printer clean by protecting it from dust and wiping it regularly with a cloth. Additionally, it's important to use only original cartridges. Using refilled cartridges can lead to problems like nozzle blockages and failure to detect the cartridge.
